Kidde has announced a voluntary recall of a dual sensor smoke alarm.  This product is known to fail to alert of a fire. 

Product Name: Kidde Model PI2000

Information on the PI2000 – Smoke Alarm:
The Kidde PI2000 is an AC/DC powered, dual sensor smoke alarm that operates on a 120V power source with 9V battery backup. The dual sensor alarm utilizes both a photoelectric and an ionization sensor.

Remedy:
Consumers should contact Kidde immediately to receive a free replacement smoke alarm.
