Oven Fire

February 15th, 2018 by Jimmy Grundon

On Monday, February 5th, Company 13 along with other first alarm units responded to a home on Hummel Avenue for a reported oven fire. Chief 13 and Chief 113 arrived to find a smoke condition in the residence with fire contained to the oven. It was determined the homeowner was using a self-clean option causing contents in a broiler pan to burn. Company 13 and Truck 14 remained on scene and provided ventilation of the home. Please remember to follow manufacturer instructions and empty your oven when using a self-clean program. No damage occurred to the home. (Photos: Weese/Grundon)
