August 23rd, 2010 by Commissioner

From the desk of Lt. 2:

Wednesday night around 23:45 the engine and squad were dispatched to Market street in the bottleneck for an accident with injuries. Chief 13 arrived to find a single vehicle who struck a wall with a single patient unconscious in the vehicle. The squad arrived and began stabilization. Engine 3-13 arrived and was instructed to pull their Amkus rescue tools to remove the passenger side two doors. The crew from engine 3 pulled the cutters and spreaders and made quick work of the doors. The drivers of the two pieces pulled the front bumper line off of engine 3 as a precaution. The patient was transferred to awaiting EMS and rushed to Harrisburg Hospital. Crews then assisted with debris removal and fluid control. The engine and squad cleared the scene around 1:00 am.
