It shouldn’t be any surprise to read that cooking is the #1 cause of residential structure fires on Thanksgiving Day.  The leading cause of these cooking fires is unattended cooking.  Unattended cooking is the leading cause of any cooking fire at any given time of the year, however, on Thanksgiving this statistic increases.  The WSBF encourages everyone to be vigilant this Thanksgiving and keep safety in mind when spending time with your family.
