Today around 230pm the first alarm was alerted for a kitchen fire in the 100 block of Herman Avenue in Lemoyne.  Engine 1-13 arrived first on scene with heavy smoke showing from the rear of the residence.  Initial arriving crews made an aggressive attack on the fire with several hand lines.  Command (Chief Shadle) requested second alarm for manpower.  With the intense temperatures and amount of work waiting to be done reinforcements were unquestionably needed.
