Cut Job in the Bottleneck

From the desk of Lt. 2:

Wednesday night around 23:45 the engine and squad were dispatched to Market street in the bottleneck for an accident with injuries. Chief 13 arrived to find a single vehicle who struck a wall with a single patient unconscious in the vehicle. The squad arrived and began stabilization. Engine 3-13 arrived and was instructed to pull their Amkus rescue tools to remove the passenger side two doors. The crew from engine 3 pulled the cutters and spreaders and made quick work of the doors. The drivers of the two pieces pulled the front bumper line off of engine 3 as a precaution. The patient was transferred to awaiting EMS and rushed to Harrisburg Hospital. Crews then assisted with debris removal and fluid control. The engine and squad cleared the scene around 1:00 am.

Back to Back Runs

Tuesday morning around 1030 am the Squad was requested to assist New Cumberland with a fluid spill. While returning to Station the Squad was dispatched for an auto accident with injuries in Camp Hill at 21st St. and the Bypass.  The Squad arrived to assist with removing a passenger door with Hydraulic Rescue Tools to gain access to a patient.  Crews assisted with patient care and debris removal before returning available.

Well Involved Garage Fire

This morning around 330am, the Squad, Engine and Air were dispatched to New Cumberland for a Garage Fire on the 300 block of 4th St.  First arriving units arrived to find heavy fire.  The Squad and Engine 2-10 made the initial attack on the fire.  Crew from Truck 14, Engine 2-13 and York Rescue 68 assisted with extinguishing and overhauling the building.  There was some heat damage to an exposure (garage) on the left side of the fire building about 15 feet away.  The fire building (3 garages) is a total loss.

Confinement at 32nd and Market

Saturday July 31, the Squad was dispatched to assist Camp Hill with an auto accident.  The Squad arrived to find 1 patient in a vehicle confined.  The Squad used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the patient within a couple of minutes.
