Porch Fire

Wednesday evening around 8pm the WSBF responded to a porch fire in the 100 block of Market Street in New Cumberland.  Units arrived to find a balcony on fire on the back of a 2 story apartment building.  Crews quickly extinguished the fire and checked for extension in to the apartments.  Crews cleared the scene in just under an hour.

Crash with Entrapment

Today around 330am the WSBF was dispatched for an auto accident with entrapment involving a car into the woods on the Taylor Bridge Bypass. While responding units were advised the caller was involved in the accident and they were uncertain of their exact location. It took 8 minutes to locate the vehicle down a steep embankment in the woods at the Erford Road Exit in East Pennsboro Township.  Crews extricated both patients from the vehicle in under 20 minutes.  Both were flown by aero-medical to a local trauma center. Crews remained on scene for several hours to assist the police department with their investigation.

Crew 13 Open House

Crew 13 is for young men and women ages 14 to 20 who are interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities within the fire service. Crew activities will be developed around areas to help crew members explore and learn about what the modern fire department is all about including, fire prevention activities, administration, fund raising, and of course being prepared for and responding to emergencies.

Volunteer opportunities are available for anyone over the age of 14.  Come out and learn more about our volunteer fire department and how you can get involved.

Open House:

When: Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 7 PM

 Where: Station #2, 18 East Market Street, Wormleysburg PA

Electrical Fire in Lower Allen

Monday around 230pm the Squad was dispatched to assist Lower Allen Fire (Co. 12) with an electrical fire at 2500 Gettysburg Road.  The Squad stood by with Company 12 until PPL Utility Company arrived to secure the power and extinguish the fire.
