RIT Escape

August 21st, 2008 by Commissioner

Wednesday night’s Company training consisted of RIT exercises.  For the third Wednesday in a row members practiced more exercises focusing on Firefighter Survival.  This week members were blindfolded as they followed a hoseline through the station while going over, under, around, and through obstacles.  The last of these was the most entertaining.

Transfer to Harrisburg City

August 17th, 2008 by Commissioner

This morning at 0250hrs., the Air Unit was alerted to assist Harrisburg City on a 2-alarm Structure Fire.  Two minutes later Engine 3-13 was alerted to transfer to City Station 1.  The Engine crew didn’t make any other runs while there and returned at 0430hrs.

The Air Unit returned shortly after 0400hrs to catch another incident in Lemoyne.  A motorist traveling on Rt 581 reported what appeared to be a house on fire in the area of M.A.B Paints on S. Tenth St. in Lemoyne.  Chief 1-13 (Beasley) advised right away that there are no houses on S. Tenth St. in that area.  Responding units searched the surrounding area but found nothing.  All units went available shortly after dispatch.
