Garage Fire

Wednesday March 26th around 1200hrs, the WSBF was hit out for the Squad, Engine, and Air to assist Fairview Twp. with a garage fire.  Prior to response the Squad and Air were held in quarters and Engine 313 was reassigned to transfer to Fairview Station 1.  Engine 3 returned around 1400hrs.  The garage was a total loss.

Rock climbing not so great

Friday afternoon around 1345 hrs, the WSBF was tapped out for a Land Rescue in the Bottleneck (Market St).  The Squad and Engine 3 arrived on the scene to find a father and son stuck half way up a small rock cliff unable to get down due to the instability of the surface.  Crews raised a 24′ Extension Ladder up to the climbers and Captain 213 (Shreiner) assisted them each on to the ladder.  Crews cleared the incident about 30 minutes later.

A Break in the Silence

Monday March 17th shortly after 9am, a first alarm assignment was sent to 237 N. Second St. Wormleysburg for an electrical fire.  Engine 213 (Capt. Shreiner) and Chief 1(R. Frank) arrived first on scene to find a wood shed smoldering next to the residence.  The box was held to Engine 213 and Engine 313.  Crews checked for extension from the wood shed and cleared the incident 15 minutes later.

Building Fire in Fairview

March 6th, 2008 by Commissioner

Monday March 3rd in the early morning hours the Squad was dispatched to Fairview Twp. for a possible building fire.  Units arrived to find a fully involved commercial structure.  Command requested additional trucks, an engine, and a tanker.  Crews operated defensively the entire incident with three trucks using master streams as well as several blitzfires.  Crew were on the scene for roughly 3 hours.
