Storm Damage

July 29th, 2007 by Kevin Lubinsky

A quick but nasty storm ran through Lemoyne and Wormelysburg the evening of July 29.  The Bureau was busy responding to alarms all over the Battalion area for floods, water rescues and fire alarms.  The worst damage occurred in an apartment building on N Front St in Wormleysburg, where a flash flood quickly filled numerous basement apartments with over 4 feet of water which residents were lucky to escape.  After over 7 hours of work, tired crews were finally able to get some much needed rest.

July 8th, 2007 by Kevin Lubinsky

On Sunday, July 8, the Battalion was dispatched to 233 Walnut Street in Lemoyne Borough for smoke from the basement of a structure. Crews arrived on scene to find a two story multi-family with smoke issuing from the basement. The team investigated and a fire was found in the bedroom of the first floor apartment. The fire was knocked with a can as a line was stretched. Damage was limited to the bedroom area with no extension to the rest of the structure.
