I-83 MVA

Friday morning units were dispatched to I-83 North for a MVA involving a car, SUV, and a flatbed tractor trailer.

MVA w/ Hazmat

While Engine 2-13 covered the Dauphin 44 house during a transfer, Squad 13 and Utility 2-13 were dispatched to Lowther Streeet at the 83 NB ramp entrance for a vehicle accident with a fuel leak.  Units arrived to find a hole in a saddle tank with product flowing freely.  The hole was plugged and the spill was controlled.

House Fire With Entrapment

While operating at a 3 alarm house fire in East Pennsboro Township, a first alarm was struck for a house fire with entrapment on S. 2nd Street at 0417hrs.  Perry County Rescue 2 was covering in Company 20’s quarters and was first in to the scene.  Engine 128 responded from Company 21’s quarters and made the knock on the fire.  The crew from Engine 2-13 left the house fire in East Pennsboro and found the victim on the first floor.  Congrats to Captain 2-13 (Shreiner) and Firefighter Jeff Quackenbush on making the grab.  Units on the scene – Perry Rescue 2, Engine 1-28, Engine 2-13, Harrisburg City Tower 2, Squad 13, Engine 2-10 and Engine 14

3-Alarm House Fire

Around 0315hrs, Engine 2-13 was dispatched as part of the third-alarm assignment for a house fire on Shady Lane in East Pennsboro Twp.  A crew of 7 responded on the Engine and assisted with extinguishment and overhaul until having to respond to another house fire in their first due.
